If he begets a son who is a robber or who sheds blood, who does any of these things,

He who begets a fool does it to his sorrow; the father of a fool has no joy.

The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice; and he who begets a wise child shall be glad because of him.

But I said to their children in the wilderness, Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor keep their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols.
