And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am Jehovah, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.

When they took hold of you by the hand, you broke and tore all their shoulders; when they leaned on you, you broke and made all their loins stand.

Lo, you trust in the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt; on which, if a man leans on it, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.

Thus says Jehovah the God of Israel: You shall say this to the king of Judah, who sent you to Me to inquire of Me: Behold, Pharaoh's army, which has come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.

As for us, our eyes failed, watching in vain for our help; in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.
