She has never given up her harlotry brought from Egypt, for in her youth they had lain with her, fondled her virgin breasts, and poured out their immorality upon her.

Therefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, for whom she lusted.
Ezekiel 23:12-21

She lusted for the neighboring Assyrians, captains and rulers, clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding on horses, all of them desirable young men.

Then I saw that she was defiled; both the same way.

But she added to her harlotry; she looked at men portrayed on the wall, images of Chaldeans portrayed in vermilion,

girded with waistbands around their waists, flowing turbans on their heads, all of them looking like officers, in the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their birth.
16
As soon as her eyes saw them, she lusted for them and sent messengers to them in Chaldea.
17
And the Babylonians came to her, into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their immorality; so she was defiled by them, and her soul was alienated from them.
18
So she uncovered her harlotry and uncovered her nakedness. Then My soul was alienated from her, just as My soul was alienated from her sister.
19
Yet she multiplied her harlotry in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, when she had committed adultery in the land of Egypt.

For she lusted for her paramours, whose flesh is like the flesh of donkeys, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.

Thus you called to remembrance the lewdness of your youth, when the Egyptians fondled your nipples because of your youthful breasts.

Now King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, and saw an altar that was at Damascus; and King Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the design of the altar and its pattern, according to all its workmanship.

And Urijah the priest built an altar according to all that King Ahaz had sent from Damascus. And Urijah the priest had it made before King Ahaz returned from Damascus.

And when the king came back from Damascus, the king saw the altar; and the king approached the altar and went up to it.

So he sacrificed his burnt offering with smoke and his grain offering; and he poured his drink offering and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings on the altar.
14
He also brought the bronze altar from before Jehovah, from the front of the house, from between his altar and the house of Jehovah; and put it on the north side of his altar.
15
And King Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, On the great new altar burn the morning burnt offering with smoke, the evening grain offering, the king's burnt offering, and his grain offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, their grain offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle on it all the blood of the burnt offering and all the blood of the sacrifice. But the bronze altar shall be for me to inquire by.

Thus did Urijah the priest, according to all that King Ahaz had commanded.

And King Ahaz cut off the rims of the carts, and removed the lavers from them; and he took down the sea from the bronze oxen that were under it, and put it on a pavement of stones.

And the covered Sabbath structure which they had built in the house, he removed from the house of Jehovah, along with the king's outer entrance, before the king of Assyria.
