Ezekiel 8:6-18

Furthermore He said to me, Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel commits here, to make Me go far away from My sanctuary? Now turn again, you will see greater abominations.

So He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold, a hole in the wall.
8
Then He said to me, Son of man, dig into the wall; and when I dug into the wall, there was an opening.
9
And He said to me, Go in, and see the evil abominations which they do there.
10
So I went in and saw; and behold, every sort of creeping thing, abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, carved all around on the wall.
11
And there stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, and in their midst stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan. Each man had a censer in his hand, and a thick cloud of incense went up.
12
Then He said to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the room of his idols? For they say, Jehovah does not see us, Jehovah has forsaken the land.
13
And He said to me, Turn again, and you will see greater abominations that they are doing.
14
So He brought me to the door of the north gate of the house of Jehovah; and behold, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz.
15
Then He said to me, Have you seen this, O son of man? Turn again, you will see greater abominations than these.
16
So He brought me into the inner court of the house of Jehovah; and behold, at the door of the temple of Jehovah, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of Jehovah and their faces toward the east, and they were bowing down to the sun toward the east.
17
And He said to me, Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a trivial thing to the house of Judah to commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence; then they have returned to provoke Me to anger. Indeed they put the branch to their nose.
18
Therefore I also will act in fury. My eye will not spare nor will I have pity; and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them.
Ezekiel 9:8
So it was, that while they were killing them, I was left alone; and I fell on my face and cried out, and said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! Will You destroy all the remnant of Israel in pouring out Your fury on Jerusalem?
Ezekiel 9:9
Then He said to me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is filled with blood, and the city is full of perversity; for they say, Jehovah has forsaken the land; and, Jehovah does not see!
Genesis 18:22-33

And the men turned from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before Jehovah.

And Abraham approached and said, Would You also sweep away the righteous with the wicked?

Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it?

Far be it from You to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

And Jehovah said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.

Then Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord:

Suppose there were five less than the fifty righteous; would You destroy all of the city for lack of five? And He said, If I find forty-five there, I will not destroy it.
29
And he spoke to Him yet again and said, Suppose there should be forty found there? And He said, I will not do it for the sake of forty.
30
Then he said, Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Suppose thirty should be found there? And He said, I will not do it if I find thirty there.
31
And he said, Indeed now, I have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: Suppose twenty should be found there? And He said, I will not destroy it for the sake of twenty.
32
And he said, Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there? And He said, I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.
33
And Jehovah went His way as soon as He had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place.
Deuteronomy 8:2
And you shall remember that Jehovah your God has led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes to the Queen of Heaven and to pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger.

Do they provoke Me to anger? says Jehovah. Is it not themselves, to the shame of their own faces.

Therefore thus says the Lord Jehovah, Behold, My anger and My fury shall be poured out on this place, on man, and on beast, and on the trees of the field, and on the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.

Thus says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: Snatch away your burnt offerings from your sacrifices, and eat flesh.

For I did not speak to your fathers, nor command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices.

But this is what I commanded them, saying, Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people; and walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, so that it may be well with you.

But they did not listen, nor extend their ear, but walked in their own plans, in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward and not forward.

Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them.

Yet they did not listen to Me, nor extend their ear, but hardened their neck. They did worse than their fathers.
27
Therefore you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you; you shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.
28
But you shall say to them, This is a nation which does not obey the voice of Jehovah their God, nor receives instruction; truth has perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
Jeremiah 22:8
And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say each one to his neighbor, Why has Jehovah done this to this great city?

Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of Jehovah their God, and bowed down to other gods, and served them.
Daniel 9:7
