Behold, O Jehovah, for I am in distress; my stomach is upset; my heart churns within me, for I have grievously rebelled. Outside the sword bereaves; at home it is like death.

Behold, O Jehovah, and consider to whom You have done this. Shall the women eat their offspring, children of their tender care? Shall the priest and the prophet be killed in the sanctuary of the Lord?

Remember my affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and bitterness.

Remember, I beseech You, the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, If you act unfaithfully, I will scatter you among the nations;

O remember that my life is a breath; my eye will never return to see good.

Remember, I beseech You, that You have made me like clay. And will You bring me back and return me to dust?

O Jehovah, You know; remember me and visit me, and take vengeance for me on those who persecute me. In Your long-suffering do not take me away; know that for Your sake I have suffered rebuke.

Jehovah, I have heard the report of You, and am afraid. Jehovah, preserve Your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember compassion.

Then he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.

All who pass by clap their hands at you; they hiss and wag their heads at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city which is called the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth?

You have heard their reproach, O Jehovah, all their plots against me;

And they said to me, The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.

Hear, O our God, for we are despised; turn their reproach upon their own heads, and give them as spoils to a land of captivity.

You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and derision to those who are round about us.

My disgrace is daily before me, and the shame of my face has covered me,

O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? Will the enemy blaspheme Your name forever?

Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? From your bosom, draw it out of Your bosom and exterminate them.

We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and derision to those who are around us.

and return upon our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom their reproach with which they have reproached You, O Lord.

Remember, O Lord, the reproachs of Your Servant, which I bear in My bosom, of all the many peoples,

with which Your enemies have reproached, O Jehovah, with which they have reproached the heel of Your Anointed.

Have mercy upon us, O Jehovah, have mercy upon us! For we are more than enough held in contempt.

Our soul has more than enough of the derision of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud who oppress us.
