O Jerusalem, wash your heart from evil so that you may be saved. How long shall your vain thoughts lodge within you?

Thus says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, Make your ways and your doings good, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

For if you thoroughly make your ways and your doings good; if you work to execute justice between a man and his neighbor;

then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, forever and ever.

But they did not obey, nor extend their ear, but made their neck stiff, so that they might not hear nor receive instruction.

Surely after I was turned back, I repented; and after I was instructed, I struck my thigh. I was ashamed, yes, even humiliated, because I bore the reproach of my youth.

And they have turned the back to Me, and not the face; though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not listened to receive instruction.

Thus says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will you not receive instruction to heed My Words? says Jehovah.

I have also sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Turn back now each man from his evil way, and do good, and do not go after other gods to serve them, and you shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers. But you have not extended your ear, nor heeded Me.

Oh, that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

And now be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth.

seeing as how you hate correction, and cast off My Words behind you?

Blessed is the man whom You correct, O YAH, and teach out of Your Law,

Take fast hold of instruction, do not let her go; keep her, for she is your life.

I said, Surely you will fear Me; you will receive instruction; so that her dwelling should not be cut off, all that I appointed for her. But they rose up early; they corrupted all their doings.

So she uncovered her harlotry and uncovered her nakedness. Then My soul was alienated from her, just as My soul was alienated from her sister.

Though they raise their sons, yet I will make them childless, until not a man is left. Yea, woe also to them when I turn away from them!

I also cut off three shepherds in one month. And My soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred Me.

Then I said, I will not feed you; that which dies, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off. And let the ones remaining, each woman, eat the flesh of her neighbor.

The young lions roared against him; they uttered their voice. And they made his land a waste; his cities are burned without inhabitant.

Therefore thus says the Lord Jehovah, Behold, My anger and My fury shall be poured out on this place, on man, and on beast, and on the trees of the field, and on the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.

Then I will cause the voice of gladness to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem, and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride. For the land shall be desolate.

And I will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins, a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.

Then the land shall enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in the land of your enemies; then the land shall rest and enjoy its sabbaths.
