Thus says Jehovah, Behold, a people comes from the land of the north, and a great nation shall be aroused from the extremities of the earth.

They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel and have no mercy; their voice roars like the sea; and they ride on horses, set in array against you as men of war, O daughter of Zion.

Have regard to the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the abode of violence.

O daughter of Babylon, who are to be destroyed, blessed is the one who rewards you as you have dealt out to us.

Blessed is the one who takes and dashes your little ones against the rock.

Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who shall not value silver; and they shall not delight in gold.

Their bows shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.

who struck peoples in wrath, strokes without letup, ruling the nations in anger, a persecution without restraint.

I was angry with My people, I have polluted My inheritance, and given them into your hand. You have shown them no mercy; upon the aged you have laid your yoke very heavily.

For, behold, I raise up the Chaldeans, the bitter and hasty nation which is proceeding into the breadth of the land, to possess dwellings that are not their own.

Their horses also are swifter than leopards and are more fierce than the evening wolves. And their horsemen spread themselves; yea, their horsemen come from afar; they fly as the eagle hurrying to eat.

For judgment will be without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Indeed, mercy rejoices over judgment.

for they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink, for they are deserving.

Therefore we will not fear when the earth changes, when mountains are slipping into the midst of the seas.

Let its waters roar and foam; let the mountains shake with the swelling of it. Selah.

The nations raged, the kingdoms were shaken; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.

And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea; and if one looks to the land, behold darkness and distress; and the light is darkened by clouds.

The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan; the whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his valiant ones. For they have come, and devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those who live in it.

At the noise of the stamping of the hooves of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back for their children because of feebleness of hands;

whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses' hooves seem like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.

And the armies in Heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and pure, followed Him on white horses.

And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of commanders, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.
