Then they said, Come and let us devise schemes against Jeremiah. For the Law shall not perish from the priest, nor wisdom from the wise, nor the Word from the prophet. Come and let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not pay attention to any of his words.

And Jehovah gave me knowledge of it, and I made it known; for You showed me their doings.

But, O Jehovah of Hosts, who judges righteously, who tries the mind and the heart, let me see Your vengeance on them. For to You I have laid open my cause.

O Jehovah, You know; remember me and visit me, and take vengeance for me on those who persecute me. In Your long-suffering do not take me away; know that for Your sake I have suffered rebuke.

The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to kill him.

Jehovah will not abandon him in his hand, nor allow him to be found guilty when he is judged.

Hear, O our God, for we are despised; turn their reproach upon their own heads, and give them as spoils to a land of captivity.

Do not cover their iniquity, and do not let their sin be blotted out from before You; for they have provoked You to anger before the builders.

Let those who seek after my soul be put to shame and dishonored; let those who devise evil against me be turned back and abashed.

You therefore, O Jehovah the God of Hosts, the God of Israel, awake and punish all the nations; do not be merciful to any wicked traitors. Selah.

Let their table become a snare before them; and to those at peace, a trap.

Pour out Your indignation upon them, and let Your burning anger take hold of them.

For they have persecuted the ones whom You have stricken, and they talk to the grief of those You pierced.

Let them be blotted out of the Book of Life, and not be written with the righteous.

Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before Jehovah, and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

Let them be continually before Jehovah, that He may cut off the memory of them from the earth;

People prostrate themselves, men bow low; therefore You do not forgive them.

Were they ashamed when they had committed abominations? No, they were not at all ashamed, nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; in the time of their punishment they shall be cast down, says Jehovah.

and there shall be no remnant of them. For I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their punishment.

And what will you do in the day of judgment, and in destruction when it comes from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory?

For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

But according to your hardness and impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
