But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, I adjure You by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!

And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.

But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.

But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest questioned Him, saying to Him, Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate marveled.

Then he questioned Him with many words, but He answered him nothing.

and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus, Where are You from? But Jesus gave him no answer.

who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but gave Himself over to Him who judges righteously;

The place in the Scripture which he read was this: He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so He opened not His mouth.

In His humiliation His judgment was taken away, and who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.
