For he says, Are not my commanders all like kings?

How then will you turn away the face of one governor of the least of my master's servants, and put your trust in Egypt for chariots and horsemen?

Lo, you trust in the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt; on which, if a man leans on it, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.

But you said, No; for we will flee on horses. Therefore you shall flee. And you said, We will ride on the swift; therefore those who pursue you shall be swift.

One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five you shall flee, until you are left as a beacon on the top of a mountain, and as a sign on a hill.

And he shall not multiply horses for himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt to multiply horses, for Jehovah has said to you, You shall not return that way again.

The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance is from Jehovah.

Why do you gad about so much to change your way? You also shall be ashamed of Egypt, as you were ashamed of Assyria.
