O Jehovah, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled.

And I will wait on Jehovah, who hides His face from the house of Jacob; and I will watch for Him.

And in that day you shall say, O Jehovah, I will praise You; though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me.

Why, when I came, was no one here? I called and no one answered. Is My hand shortened at all so that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness; their fish stink, because there is no water, and die of thirst.

For Jehovah has called you as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, like a wife of youth, when you were rejected, says your God.

In overflowing wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy upon you, says Jehovah your Redeemer.

They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah, but they shall not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.

I will go and return to My place until they confess their guilt and seek My face. In their affliction they will seek Me earnestly.

And behold, a woman of Canaan came from those borders and cried out to Him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is grievously demon- possessed.

But He answered and said, I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

But He answered and said, It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs.

Then Jesus answered and said to her, O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire. And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

I remembered God, and was troubled; I complained, and my spirit fainted. Selah

For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry; for the spirit would grow faint before Me, and the souls I have made.

And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times. And he went out and wept bitterly.

And a second time the rooster crowed. And Peter remembered the word that Jesus had said to him, Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times. And when he thought on it, he wept.

And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.

And Peter went out and wept bitterly.

Shulamite: By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him, but I did not find him.

I will rise now, and go about the city; in the streets and in the broad places I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I did not find him.

And when Saul inquired of Jehovah, Jehovah did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by the prophets.

O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not answer; and in the nighttime, and am not silent.

O Jehovah the God of Hosts, how long will You be angry against the prayer of Your people?

my eye has become faint because of affliction. Jehovah, I have called daily upon You; I have stretched out my hands unto You.

Shall Your lovingkindness be declared in the grave? Or Your faithfulness in Abaddon?

But unto You I have cried out, O Jehovah, and in the morning my prayer comes before You.

Yet they seek Me daily, and delight to know My ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and did not forsake the ordinance of their God. They ask of Me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in drawing near to God.

Also when I cry and shout, He shuts out my prayer.

Therefore it has come to pass that, just as He called, and they would not hear; so they called, and I did not hear, says Jehovah of Hosts.
