For a dream comes through much activity; and a fool's voice by the multitude of words.

For who knows what is good for man in life, all the days of his vain life which he spends as a shadow? For who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?

For he does not know what shall be; so who can tell him when it shall be?

Come now, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go to this city, spend a year there, do business, and make a profit;

whereas you do not know what will be tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
