But it came to pass on the seventh day that they said to Samson's wife, Entice your husband, that he may expound the riddle to us, or else we will burn you and your father's house with fire. Have you invited us in order to make us poor? Is that not so?

Nevertheless Saul did not say anything that day, for he thought, Something has happened to him; he is not clean, surely he is not clean.

And Jonathan answered Saul, David has asked for himself a leave of absence to go to Bethlehem.

Then Saul's anger burned against Jonathan, and he said to him, You son of perverse rebellion! Do I not know that you have chosen the son of Jesse to your own shame and to the shame of your mother's nakedness?

And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said to him, Why should he be killed? What has he done?

then Saul said to his servants who stood about him, Hear now, you Benjamites! Will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, and make you all commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds?

All of you have conspired against me, and not one is disclosing in my ear that my son made a covenant with the son of Jesse; and not one of you is sorry for me nor is disclosing in my ear that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as it is this day.

And the king said, You shall be executed to death, Ahimelech, you and all your father's house!

And the king said to Doeg, You turn and fall upon the priests! And Doeg the Edomite turned and fell upon the priests, and killed on that day eighty-five men bearing a linen ephod.

And Nabal answered David's servants, and said, Who is David, and who is the son of Jesse? There are many servants these days breaking away each one from his master.

Shall I then take my bread and my water and my meat that I have killed for my shearers, and give it to men when I do not know where they are from?

And behold, all the men of Israel came to the king, and said to the king, Why have our brethren, the men of Judah, stolen you away and brought the king, his household, and all David's men with him across the Jordan?

And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king; therefore we also have more in David than you. Why then have you despised us; were we not the first to speak of bringing back our king? Yet the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel.

And there met them there a man of worthlessness, whose name was Sheba the son of Bichri, a Benjamite. And he blew a shofar, and said: We have no part in David, nor do we have inheritance in the son of Jesse; every man to his tents, O Israel!

And he said, If Jehovah does not help you, where can I find help for you? From the threshing floor or from the winepress?

Then he said, God do so to me and more also, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat remains on him today.

If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rages or laughs, there is no rest.

Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, asked of them exactly what time the star appeared.

And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you find Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and do homage to Him also.

Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was greatly enraged; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired from the wise men.

And some of the Pharisees said to them, Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?

But they were filled with madness, and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.

And when the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that He had not first washed before dinner.

And as He said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to quarrel with Him forcefully, and to cross-examine Him about many things,

lying in wait for Him, and seeking to catch Him in something He might say, in order to accuse Him.

But the chief priests took counsel to put Lazarus to death also,

saying, Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood upon us.

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you laid hands on, hanging Him on a tree.

And we are His witnesses of these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.

Then there arose some from what is called the Synagogue of the Libertines (Cyrenians, Alexandrians, and those from Cilicia and Asia), disputing with Stephen.

Then they secretly induced men to say, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.

When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.

and said, Behold, I see the Heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.

and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid aside their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul.

for a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brought no small profit to the craftsmen.

Moreover you see and hear that not only at Ephesus, but throughout almost all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that they are not gods which are made with hands.

Now when they heard this, they were full of anger and cried out, saying, Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!
