The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

They do not know, nor do they understand; they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

For of this they are willfully ignorant: that by the Word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,

For her house leads down to death, and her tracks to the spirits of the dead.

No one going in to her returns, nor do they attain unto the ways of life.

her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on Sheol;

For on account of a promiscuous woman, a man comes to a loaf of bread; for the man's wife hunts for the precious soul.

Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the rooms of death.
