There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! And their eyelids are lifted up.

Through the pride of his countenance the wicked do not seek after God; God is not in all his schemes.

For You will save the lowly people, but will bring down lofty looks.

Therefore pride is their necklace; violence covers them like a garment.

They scoff and speak of evil oppression; they speak arrogantly.

Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah, but those who deal in faithfulness are His delight.

A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness speaks lies.

A lying tongue hates those crushed by it, and a flattering mouth brings about ruin.

You shall destroy those who speak lies; Jehovah abhors the man of blood and treachery.

Rescue my soul, O Jehovah, from lying lips and from a deceitful tongue.

What shall be given to you, or what shall be done to you, O deceitful tongue?

Hear the Word of Jehovah, you sons of Israel, for Jehovah has a complaint against the inhabitants of the land; for there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

Swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and the committing of adultery burst forth. And blood touches against blood.

You are of the devil as your father, and the lusts of your father you purpose to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.

But outside are dogs and sorcerers and prostitutes and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and produces a lie.

If they say, Walk with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause,

Cursed is the one who takes a bribe to strike the blood of an innocent soul. And all the people shall say, Amen!
