He who reproves a scorner gets shame to himself; and he who rebukes a wicked man gets himself a blemish.

Do not reprove a scorner, lest he hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.

If you are wise, you shall be wise for yourself, and if you scorn, you alone shall bear it.

Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the backs of fools.

Proud, haughty scorner is his name, who acts with arrogant pride.

Though Jehovah is on high, yet He gives attention to the lowly; but the proud He recognizes from afar.

For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and consecrated place, even with the contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

Likewise you that are younger, be subject to your elders. Yes, all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
