If they say, Walk with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause,

we shall find all sorts of precious stuff, we shall fill our houses with plunder;

My son, do not walk in the way with them! Withhold your foot from their path;

Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

So are the ways of everyone who gets unjust gain; it takes away the soul of its master.

When you saw a thief, then you were pleased to be with him, and have been a partaker with adulterers.

You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.

Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be no one to deliver.

Your rulers are rebellious and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe, and pursues rewards. They do not judge for the orphan, nor does the cause of the widow come before them.

And He taught, saying to them, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations? But you have made it a den of thieves.

He who commits adultery with a woman lacks heart; he who does so destroys his own soul.

But he who sins against me does violence to his own soul; all who hate me love death.

He who neglects instruction despises his own soul, but he who heeds reproof gets understanding.

The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion; whoever stirs him up to anger sins against his own soul.

If a soul sins and has heard the utterance of an oath, and is a witness, whether he has seen or known of the matter; if he does not report it, he bears guilt.

And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from you, and about which you had sworn an oath, even saying it in my ears; behold the silver is with me, I have taken it. And his mother said, Blessed of Jehovah are you, my son!
