But all Israel would go down to the Philistines to sharpen each man's plowshare, his mattock, his ax, and his sickle;

and the price for sharpening was a pim for the plowshares, the mattocks, the forks, and the axes, and to set the points of the goads.

For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep safe what I have committed to Him until that Day.

You therefore endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of bonds; but the Word of God is not bound.

This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,

Beloved, do not be astonished at the fiery trial which is to try you, as though something unheard of was happening to you;

but rejoice in so far as you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also rejoice with exceeding joy.
