But if we say, From men, we fear the multitude, for everyone holds John as a prophet.

So they answered Jesus and said, We do not know. And He said to them, Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in His words.

And they sent to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not regard the person of men.

Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why do you test Me, hypocrites?

Show Me the tribute money. So they brought Him a denarius.

They said to Him, Caesar's. And He said to them, Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.

The same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and questioned Him,

saying: Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up seed for his brother.

Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had married, and having no seed, left his wife to his brother.

Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh.

Last of all the woman died also.

Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her.

Jesus answered and said to them, You are in error, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.

For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like the angels of God in Heaven.

But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying,

I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
Luke 12:13-21

Then one from the crowd said to Him, Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.

But He said to him, Man, who made Me a judge or a divider over you?

And He said to them, Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.

Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully.

And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, since I have nowhere to gather my fruits?

So he said, I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build larger, and there I will gather all my fruits and my goods.

And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.

But God said to him, Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have prepared?

So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
Luke 13:23-30

Then one said to Him, Lord, are there few who are saved? And He said to them,

Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us, and He will answer and say to you, I do not know you, where you are from,

then you will begin to say, We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.

But He will say, I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.

There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrust outside.

And they will come from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down in the kingdom of God.

And indeed there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.
John 8:7
So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.

Then they said to him again, What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?

He answered them, I told you already, and you did not hear. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you not also want to become His disciples?

Then they reviled him and said, You are His disciple, but we are Moses' disciples.
