Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice with the wife of your youth,

Will you not now cry to Me, My father, You are the guide of my youth?

When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; so I spread the edge of My garment over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine, declares the Lord Jehovah.

For thus says the Lord Jehovah: I will deal with you as you have done, who have despised the oath by breaking the covenant.

Nevertheless I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.

Yet you say, For what reason? Because Jehovah has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously; and she is your companion and your wife by covenant.

For Jehovah the God of Israel, says that He hates divorce, and to cover violence with one's garment, says Jehovah of Hosts. Therefore take heed to your spirit and do not deal treacherously.
