What is desired of a man is his kindness; and a poor man is better than a liar.

The righteous searches out his friends, but the way of the wicked makes him wander.

Better is a little with the fear of Jehovah than great treasure and turmoil with it.

Better is a little with righteousness than great revenue without justice.

Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

All day long he is gracious and lends, and his seed is blessed.

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

But you have dishonored the poor. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you to the judgment seats?

Now therefore, know and consider what you will do, for harm is determined against our master and against all his household. For he is a son of worthlessness, that no one can speak to him.

Please, let not my lord set his heart on this man of worthlessness, Nabal. For as his name is, so is he: Nabal is his name, and folly is with him. But I, your handmaid, did not see the young men of my lord whom you sent.

For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue has uttered perverseness.

Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.

Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for a tree is known by its fruit.
