He who works with a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

Do not be among those who are heavy drinkers of wine, or among gluttons for flesh;

for the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty, and slumber shall clothe a man with rags.

I went by the field of the lazy man, and by the vineyard of the man lacking heart;

Then I saw; I set my heart on it; I observed and received instruction.

so shall your poverty come like a prowler, and your want like an armed man.

But his lord answered and said to him, You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I did not scatter.

not slothful in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

that you do not become slothful, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

He who robs his father or his mother and says, It is no transgression, is a companion to a man who destroys.

I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to the daughters of the owl.

And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living.

But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be destitute.

He also said to His disciples: There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and an accusation was brought to him that this man was wasting his goods.

So he called him and said to him, What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.
