The rich man's wealth is his strong city; the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

lest, when you have eaten and been filled, and have built beautiful houses and dwelt in them;

when your heart is lifted up, and you forget Jehovah your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

If I have made gold my hope, or said to fine gold, you are my confidence;

if I have rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because my hand had acquired much;

Behold, the man who did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and was strong in his wickedness.

Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if riches increase, do not set your heart upon them.

And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God.

But God said to him, Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have prepared?

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be high-minded, nor to trust in the uncertainty of riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, and its leaf shall not wither, and all that he does shall prosper.

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.

The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fat and luxuriant;

Your people also shall all be righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, so that I may be glorified.

For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters; it sends out its roots by the river, and it shall not fear when the heat comes, but its foliage shall be green; and he is not anxious in the year of drought, nor will it cease from yielding fruit.
