And I will give this people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians; and it shall come to pass, when you go, that you shall not leave empty.

And Jehovah had given the people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians, so that they granted their requests. Thus they plundered the Egyptians.

But Jehovah was with Joseph and extended mercy to him, and He gave him favor in the eyes of the warden of the prison house.

He also gave them compassion before the faces of those who had taken them captive.
