lest they tear my soul like a lion, tearing it in pieces, and there is no one to rescue.

Have all the workers of iniquity not known, eating up My people as they eat bread? They have not called upon Jehovah.

Yet, for Your sake we are killed all day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

They said in their hearts, Together let us violently oppress them. They have burned up all the meeting places of the Mighty God in the land.

O do not deliver the soul of Your turtle dove to the beasts; forget not the community of Your lowly forever.

Have regard to the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the abode of violence.

The dead bodies of Your servants they have given as food for the birds of the heavens, the flesh of Your saints to the beasts of the earth.

Their blood they have shed like water all around Jerusalem, and there was no one to bury them.

For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.

Many times they have afflicted me from my youth; yet they have not prevailed against me.

The plowers plowed upon my back; they made their furrows long.

What do you mean that you crush My people, and grind the faces of the poor? says the Lord Jehovah of Hosts.

Now therefore, what have I here, says Jehovah, that My people are taken away for nothing? Those who rule make them howl, says Jehovah; and My name is continually blasphemed every day.

But your eyes and your heart are for nothing but your unjust gain, and for shedding innocent blood, and for oppression, and to do violence.

You are My battle-ax and weapons of war; for with you I will shatter nations; and with you I will destroy kingdoms.

Also with you I will shatter man and woman; and with you I will shatter old and young; and with you I will shatter the young man and the maiden.

You who hate good and love evil, who tear their skin off them, and their flesh from off their bones;

who also eat the flesh of My people, and flay their skin off from them; and they break their bones and chop them in pieces as for the pot, and as flesh in the kettle.

And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.

And it came to pass after many days that the king of Egypt died. And the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

Because you were glad, because you rejoiced, O destroyers of My inheritance; because you are fat like a heifer in lush grass, and bellow like bulls;

And I will give to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.
