My mercy I will keep for him forever, and My covenant shall be established with him.

His seed also I have ordained eternally, and His throne as the days of Heaven.

Thus Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.

The people of Your holiness have possessed it but a little while; our enemies have trampled Your sanctuary.

My disgrace is daily before me, and the shame of my face has covered me,

Let my adversaries be clothed with disgrace, and let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a cloak.

And my enemy shall see; and shame shall cover her who said to me, Where is Jehovah your God? My eyes shall see her. Now she shall be trampled down as the mud of the streets.
