And the Philistines put themselves in battle array against Israel. And when they joined the battle, Israel was struck down before the Philistines, who killed about four thousand men at the battle line in the field.

So the Philistines fought, and Israel was struck down, and every man fled to his tent. There was a very great slaughter, and there fell of Israel thirty thousand foot soldiers.

And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died.

But You have cast off and rejected, You have passed over Your anointed.

Do not be greatly furious, O Jehovah, nor remember iniquity forever. Behold, please look. We all are Your people.
