To You, O my Strength, I will make music; for God is my stronghold and the God of my mercy.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassions and God of all comfort,

but God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you are saved),

But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

For You go before him with the blessings of goodness; You set a crown of pure gold upon his head.

Oh, do not remember our former iniquities against us! Let Your tender mercies come speedily to meet us, for we have been brought very low.

And it shall come to pass that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.

For this we say to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.

For He has delivered me out of all trouble; and my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies.

Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the retribution of the wicked.

My eye also shall see my desire upon my enemies; my ears shall hear my desire upon the wicked who rise up against me.

His heart is secure; he will not be afraid, though he sees his adversary.

David said furthermore, As Jehovah lives, Jehovah shall strike him, or his day shall come to have died, or he shall go out to battle and will have perished.

Then David took hold of his own clothes and tore them, and so did all the men with him.

And they mourned and wept and fasted until evening for Saul and for Jonathan his son, for the people of Jehovah and for the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.

Then David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son,

As for me, I have not hurried away from being a shepherd who follows You; nor have I desired the woeful day; You surely know the going forth of my lips before Your face.

And as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it,

For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and besiege you on every side,

For I bear witness of them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to full true knowledge.

For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

Lead me, O Jehovah, in Your righteousness, because of my enemies; make Your way straight before my face.

He will repay evil to my enemies; cut them off in Your truth.

My enemies have panted after me daily; for they are many who proudly fight against me.

They stir up strife; they hide themselves; they watch my steps as they lie in wait for my soul.
