My soul also is exceedingly anxious; but You, O Jehovah, how long?

Reproach has broken My heart, and I am full of heaviness. I looked for someone to show pity, but there was no one; and for comforters, but I found none.

For my soul is full of evil, and my life draws near to Sheol.

For my days have vanished like smoke, and my bones are burned like a firebrand.

Because of the sound of my groaning my bones cling to my skin.

And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and in extreme anguish.

And He said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death. Stay here and watch with Me.

And He took Peter, Jacob, and John with Him, and He began to be in dread and deeply distressed.

And He said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.

Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? Father, save Me out of this hour? But for this purpose I came unto this hour.

For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened exceedingly, beyond strength, so that we despaired even of life.

who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us, in whom we hope that He will still deliver us,

The cords of death have surrounded me, and the floods of the wicked made me afraid.

The cords of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death have confronted me.

The bands of death have encompassed me, and the distress of Sheol has fallen upon me; I found trouble and sorrow.

I said at the end of of my days, I shall go to the gates of Sheol; I am deprived of the rest of my years.

My generation is plucked up and removed from me like a shepherd's tent; I have cut off my life like a weaver; He will cut me off from the loom; from day even to night You make an end of me.

who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who had the power to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,
