He sent from above, He took me, He drew me out of many waters.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from those who hated me; for they were too strong for me.

who has shown me great and evil distresses. You will revive me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

For great is Your mercy toward me, and You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

The bands of death have encompassed me, and the distress of Sheol has fallen upon me; I found trouble and sorrow.

Give attention to my cry, for I am brought very low; rescue me from my persecutors, for they are stronger than I.

Bring my soul out of prison, that I may give thanks unto Your name; the righteous shall surround me, for You shall deal bountifully with me.

For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness, like those long dead.

And they shall be gathered, as prisoners are gathered in a dungeon. And they shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days they shall be visited.

Waters encompassed me, even to my soul; the depth closed around me; seaweed was wrapped around my head.

For You will not leave My soul in Hades, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.

and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, where the floods have overflowed me.

Rescue me out of the mire, and let me not sink; let me be rescued from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters.

Do not let the flood of waters overflow me, nor let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.

And they took Jeremiah and threw him into the pit of Malchijah the son of Hammelech, which was in the court of the guard. And they let Jeremiah down with ropes. And there was no water in the pit, only mud. So Jeremiah sank into the mud.

Ebed-melech went out of the king's house and spoke to the king, saying,

Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take by your hand thirty men from here, and lift Jeremiah the prophet up out of the pit before he dies.

And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, Now put the worn out clothes and rags under your armpits, under the ropes. And Jeremiah did so.

They have cut off my life in the pit, and cast a stone upon me.

I called on Your name, O Jehovah, out of the lowest pit.

For in the time of evil He shall hide me in His den, in the secrecy of His tent He shall hide me; He shall lift me up upon a rock.

From the ends of the earth I cry out to You when my heart is faint; lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock;

and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

My steps have been upheld in Your paths, so that my footsteps have not slipped.

You enlarged the place for my steps under me, so that my feet have not slipped.

The steps of a good man are ordered by Jehovah, and he delights in His way.

Direct my steps in Your Word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me.
