I was a reproach among all my enemies, but especially among my neighbors, and an object of dread to my friends; those who saw me outside have fled from me.

Surely now you are nothing; you see terror and are afraid.

Or, Deliver me from the hand of the adversary? Or, Redeem me from the hand of the mighty?

He has removed my brothers far from me, and my acquaintances are completely estranged from me.

Those who dwell in my house, and my maidservants, count me as a stranger; I am a foreigner in their eyes.

My breath is loathsome to my wife, and I must entreat the favor of children for the sake of my own body.

But all this is happening that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.

Behold, the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you are scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.

Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

And likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.

And having arrested Him, they led Him away and brought Him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed at a distance.

But all His acquaintances, and the women who accompanied Him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.
