Jehovah is in His holy temple; Jehovah's throne is in Heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids examine the sons of men.

Jehovah looked down from Heaven upon the sons of men, to see if there were any who understood and sought God.

For He has looked down from the height of His sanctuary; from Heaven Jehovah has looked upon the earth,

And God looked upon the earth, and behold it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.

For the eyes of Jehovah run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong for those whose hearts are perfect toward Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on there will be wars for you.

For He looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole heavens,

The eyes of Jehovah are in every place, keeping watch over the evil and the good.

until Jehovah looks down from Heaven and has regard.

God looked down from Heaven upon the children of mankind to see if any was circumspect, seeking God.

Am I a God near by, says Jehovah, and not a God afar off?

Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? says Jehovah. Do I not fill the heavens and earth? says Jehovah.

And there is no creature that is not revealed in His presence, but all things are naked and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom we must give answer.
