I am reckoned with those who go down to the pit; I am like a man with no strength,

free among the dead, like the slain who lie in the grave, whom You remember no more, and who have been cut off from Your hand.

I said, I shall not see YAH, Jehovah, in the land of the living; I shall look on man no more among the inhabitants of the world.

My generation is plucked up and removed from me like a shepherd's tent; I have cut off my life like a weaver; He will cut me off from the loom; from day even to night You make an end of me.

You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

For I have become like a wineskin in smoke, yet I do not forget Your Statutes.

And He shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces. He shall not spare, so that there shall not be found in the fragments of it a shard with which to take fire from the hearth, or to take water out of the cistern.

Does not the potter have authority over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel unto honor and another unto dishonor?

What if God, determining to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath rendered fit unto destruction,

He shall rule them with a rod of iron; they shall be dashed to pieces like the potter's vessels; as I also have received from My Father;
