Why do You stand afar off, O Jehovah? Will You hide in times of distress?

For this let everyone who is godly pray unto You, in a time when You may be found; surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come near him.

You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from distress; You shall enclose me with shouts of deliverance. Selah.

and call on Me in the day of trouble; and I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.

In the day of my distress I sought the Lord; my hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing; my soul refused to be comforted.

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.

Though I walk in the midst of distress, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will deliver me.

Because I have called, and you refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one pays attention,

I also will laugh at your calamity, I will mock when your terror comes;

Then they shall call upon me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me.

Jehovah, in trouble they have visited You; they have poured out a prayer when Your chastening was upon them.

saying to a tree, You are my father; and to a stone, You gave birth to me. For they have turned their back to Me, and not their face; but in the time of their distress they will say, Arise and save us!

But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves? Let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your distress; for according to the number of your cities are your gods, O Judah.

They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and conspired against Your treasure.

The name of Jehovah is a strong tower; the righteous one runs into it and is safe.

And Jehovah will create over all the foundation of Mount Zion, and over her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory shall be a canopy.

And there shall be a booth for shade by day from the heat, and for a refuge and a shelter from storm and rain.

Come, my people, enter into your rooms and shut your doors behind you; hide (as it were) for a few moments, until the indignation has passed.

And a man shall be as a hiding place from the wind, and a shelter from the tempest, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a huge rock in a weary land.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her, how often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places.

From the ends of the earth I cry out to You when my heart is faint; lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.

yet I will exult in Jehovah; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.

and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
