When my enemies have turned back, they shall fall and perish at Your presence.

You make us turn back from the enemy; and those who hate us have plundered for themselves.

When I cry out, then my enemies shall be turned back. This I know, for God is with me.

Have I sinned? What have I done to You, O Watcher of men? Why have You set me as Your target, so that I am a burden to myself?

I was at ease, but He has shattered me; He also has taken hold on my neck, and dashed me to pieces; He has set me up for His target.

His archers surround me; He pierces my heart and does not pity; He pours out my gall on the ground.

He has bent His bow and set me as a target for the arrow.

He has also prepared instruments of death for him; He makes His arrows hotly pursue.

Yea, He sent out His arrows and scattered them; and He shot out lightnings and confounded them.

But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly they shall be wounded.
