They looked, but there was no one to save; even to Jehovah, but He did not answer them.

And I beat them as fine as the dust of the earth; I pulverized them like the mire of the streets, and I stamped them out.

There they cry out, but He does not answer, because of the arrogance of evil men.

Surely, the Mighty God will not listen to vanity, nor will the Almighty regard it.

Then they shall call upon me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me.

And when you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you. Even though you multiply prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

Behold, Jehovah's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor is His ear heavy, that it cannot hear.

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, that He will not hear.

Therefore Jehovah says this: Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry to Me, I will not listen to them.

When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

Therefore I also will act in fury. My eye will not spare nor will I have pity; and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them.

And they have not cried to Me with their heart, when they wailed on their beds. They assemble themselves for grain and wine; they turn aside from Me.

Then they shall cry out to Jehovah, but He will not answer them. He will even hide His face from them at that time, because they have done evil in their doings.
