i1 [A Psalm of David.] i0 par Blessed is Jehovah my Rock, who teaches my hands for war, and my fingers for battle;

You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your affliction has made me great.

and for a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

Thus says Jehovah to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have strengthened in order to subdue nations before him. And I will loosen the loins of kings, to open before him the gates; and the gates shall not be shut.

who makes wars to cease to the ends of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariots in the fire.

Thus says Jehovah of Hosts: Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.

And it shall be in that day that I will break the bow of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel.
