Nevertheless I will not do it in your days, for the sake of your father David; I shall tear it out of the hand of your son.

However I will not tear away the whole kingdom; I shall give one tribe to your son for the sake of my servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem which I have chosen.

However I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, because I have made him ruler all the days of his life for the sake of My servant David, whom I have chosen because he has kept My commandments and My statutes.

Nevertheless for David's sake Jehovah his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him to establish Jerusalem;

because David had done what was right in the eyes of Jehovah, and had not turned aside from anything that He had commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

For I have defended this city, to save it for My own sake and for My servant David's sake.

Afterward the sons of Israel shall return and seek Jehovah their God and David their king. And they shall fear Jehovah and His goodness in the latter days.

Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of Your anointed.

But You have cast off and rejected, You have passed over Your anointed.

You have spurned the covenant of Your servant; You have dishonored his crown on the ground.

O Jehovah God, do not turn away the face of Your anointed; remember the faithfulness of Your servant David.
