And Saul went on one side of the mountain, and David and his men on the other side of the mountain. And David made haste to get away from Saul, for Saul and his men were encircling David and his men to catch them.

But a messenger came to Saul, saying, Hasten and come, for the Philistines have raided the land!

After whom has the king of Israel come out? After whom are you pursuing? After a dead dog? After a flea?

Therefore Jehovah is judge, and has judged between you and me, and shall see and plead my case, and deliver me out of your hand.

If a man arises to pursue you and seek your soul, the soul of my lord shall be bound up in the bundle of life with Jehovah your God; and the souls of your enemies He shall sling out, as from the pocket of a sling.

I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and make him afraid. And all the people who are with him will flee, and I will strike only the king.

Now it came to pass, after they had departed, that they came up out of the well and went and reported to King David, and said to David, Arise and cross over the water quickly; for thus has Ahithophel counseled against you.

So David and all the people with him arose and crossed over the Jordan. By morning light not one of them was left who had not crossed over the Jordan.

My eyes are ever toward Jehovah; for He shall pluck my feet out of the net.

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the destructive pestilence.

Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.

For among My people are found wicked ones; they lie in wait, as one who sets snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

Let a cry be heard from their houses, when You suddenly bring a troop upon them. For they have dug a pit to take me, and have hidden snares for my feet.

and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
