Therefore know that Jehovah your God, He is God, the faithful Mighty God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

You will give faithfulness to Jacob, goodness to Abraham, which You have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

i1 [Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite.] i0 par I will sing of the mercies of Jehovah forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness from generation to generation.

For I have said, Mercy shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness You shall establish in the heavens.

For Jehovah is good; His mercy is eternal, and His truth endures from generation to generation.

The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; You have founded the world and all its fullness.

Jehovah reigns, He is clothed with majesty; Jehovah is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. The world also is established, so that it cannot be shaken.

You laid the foundations of the earth, so that it should not be shaken forever.

Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have become acquainted with understanding.

To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone,

For of this they are willfully ignorant: that by the Word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,

But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same Word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
