Let the proud be ashamed, for they have dealt perversely with deception; but I will meditate on Your Precepts.

He has excavated a cistern and dug it, and has fallen into the pit which he made.

For without cause they have hidden their net for me in a pit; without cause they have dug for my soul.

Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked cause me to wander.

A worthless man digs up evil, and his lips are like a burning fire.

Should evil be repaid for good? For they have dug a pit for my life. Remember that I stood before You to speak good for them, to turn away Your wrath from them.
