Your vows are upon me, O God; I will give thanks unto You,

I will go into Your house with burnt offerings; I will make good to You my vows,

which my lips have uttered and my mouth has spoken when I was in distress.

and whoever would not seek Jehovah the God of Israel was put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.

And they swore unto Jehovah with a loud voice, with shouting and trumpets and shofars.

these joined with their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse and an oath to walk in God's Law, which was given by the hand of Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of Jehovah our Lord, and His ordinances and His statutes:

When you vow a vow to God, do not hesitate to pay it; for He has no pleasure in fools. Pay that which you have vowed.

It is better that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay.

Again, you have heard that it was said to those of old, You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.

And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and also to us through the will of God.

Depart from me, you evildoers, for I will keep the Commandments of my God.

Then the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before Jehovah, to follow Jehovah and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the Words of this covenant that were written in this Book. And all the people stood for the covenant.
