As it is written: He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.

For the needy will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, You shall open, to open your hand unto your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.

There is one who scatters, yet increases more; but the one who withholds more than is right, tends to poverty.

The blessed soul will be made fat; he who waters shall also be watered himself.

He who has pity upon the poor lends to Jehovah, and He will make compensation for what he has given.

Cast your bread upon the waters; for you shall find it after many days.

Give a share to seven, and also to eight; for you do not know what evil shall be on the earth.

In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not withhold your hand; for you do not know which shall be blessed, either this or that, or whether they both alike shall be good.

But the noble devises noble things; and by noble things he shall stand.

Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, and that you should bring home the wandering poor? When you see the naked to cover him; and not hide yourself from your own flesh?

and if you extend your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light shine in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.

For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you wish you may do them good; but you do not always have Me.

But rather give alms from what is within; and behold, all things are clean to you.

Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in Heaven that does not fail, where a thief does not come near nor moth destroys.

So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, You still lack one thing. Sell everything that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow Me.

For some thought, because Judas had the moneybag, that Jesus was saying to him, Buy those things we need for the feast, or that he should give something to the poor.

and placed them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.

I have shown you in everything, by laboring like this, that we need to support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for eating, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness,

For the ministry of this service not only supplies what is lacking to the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God,

and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you.

Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share,

But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,

and one of you says to them, Depart in peace, be warmed and filled, but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?

By this we know the love of God, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness stands forever.

You shall return and bring the pledge back to him when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his own garment and bless you; and it shall be righteousness in you before Jehovah your God.

that your deed of mercy may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

Then He also said to him who invited Him, When you give a dinner or a supper, do not invite your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid.

And you will be blessed, because they do not have the means to repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.

And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when it fails, they may receive you into eternal dwellings.

For God is not unjust, to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.

I will also cut off all the horns of the wicked; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

But my horn You have exalted like an oryx; I have been anointed with fresh oil.

And Hannah prayed and said: My heart has rejoiced in Jehovah; my horn has been exalted in Jehovah. My mouth has been enlarged over my enemies, because I have rejoiced in Your salvation.

Therefore Jehovah the God of Israel says: I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever. But now Jehovah says: Far be it from Me! For those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.
