Have you commanded the morning since your days began, and caused the dawn to know its place,

that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and the wicked be shaken out of it?

Then God said, Let there be light! And there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided between the light and darkness.

Then God said, Let there be luminaries in the firmament of the heavens, to distinguish the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;

And God made two great luminaries: the greater luminary to rule the day, and the lesser luminary to rule the night, and also the stars.

and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

And take heed, when you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of the heavens, that you not be driven to bow down to them and serve them, which Jehovah your God has allotted to all the peoples under the heavens.

forming the light and creating darkness; making peace and creating evil. I, Jehovah, do all these things.

That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the Light of Life.

He made darkness His secret place; His pavilion around Him was dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

You make darkness, and it is night, in which all the beasts of the forest creep about.

He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they did not rebel against His Word.

Give glory to Jehovah your God, before He causes darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and, while you are looking for light, He turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it gross darkness.

All the bright lights of the heavens I will make dark over you, and bring darkness upon your land, declares the Lord Jehovah.

For, behold, He who forms mountains and creates the wind and declares to man what his thought is, He who makes the dawn darkness, and treads on the high places of the earth; Jehovah the God of Hosts, is His name.

Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land.
