Receive, now, the Law from His mouth, and lay up His Words in your heart.

Then you shall lay up your gold as the dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

for then you shall have your delight in the Almighty, and lift up your face unto God.

For what is the hope of the hypocrite when he is cut off, when God draws out his soul?

Will the Mighty God hear his cry when distress comes upon him?

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.

Jehovah is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.

He who turns away his ear from hearing the Law, even his prayer is an abomination.

Guard your feet when you go to the house of God, and be more ready to hear than to give the sacrifice of fools. For they do not know that they are doing evil.

For a dream comes through much activity; and a fool's voice by the multitude of words.

And when you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you. Even though you multiply prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

Therefore Jehovah says this: Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry to Me, I will not listen to them.

And they have not cried to Me with their heart, when they wailed on their beds. They assemble themselves for grain and wine; they turn aside from Me.

Israel shall cry to Me, My God, we know You.

Israel has cast off the good; the enemy shall pursue him.

And when you pray, do not babble vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

And He said to her, What do you wish? She said to Him, Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom.

But Jesus answered and said, You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be immersed with the immersion that I am immersed with? They said to Him, We are able.

You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your lusts.

I cry out to You, but You do not answer me; I stand up, and You pay no attention to me.

He shall turn toward the prayer of the destitute, and shall not despise their prayer.

Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not be pleased; nor will I regard the peace offerings of your fat animals.
