Hear my words, you wise men; give ear to me, you who have knowledge.

For the ear examines words as the palate tastes food.

Men with heart say to me, wise men who listen to me:

He who commits adultery with a woman lacks heart; he who does so destroys his own soul.

He who neglects instruction despises his own soul, but he who heeds reproof gets understanding.

Does the Mighty God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness?

Who has assigned Him His way, or who has said, You have done wrong?

As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him out; He is great in power, in justice and abundant righteousness; He does not afflict.

Far be it from You to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a Mighty God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He.

Now therefore, let the fear of Jehovah be upon you; take heed and do it, for there is no injustice with Jehovah our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes.

to declare that Jehovah is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

Righteous are You, O Jehovah, when I complain to You; yet let me speak with You about Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are all those who deceive with treachery at ease?

Let it not be! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: That You may be found just in Your words, and may win the case when You are judged.

But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unjust who lays on wrath? (I speak as a man.)

What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Let it not be!

Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
