O Jehovah my God, if I have done this: if there is iniquity in my hands;

let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it; yea, let him trample down my life upon the earth and lay my honor in the dust. Selah.

O you sons of men, how long will you turn My glory into shame? Will you love vanity and seek after falsehood? Selah.

They speak vanity each one with his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.

If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god,

shall not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

He who tills his land shall be satisfied with bread, but he who follows vanities lacks heart.

Thus says Jehovah, What injustice have your fathers found in Me, that they have gone far from Me and have walked after vanity, and have become vain?

Therefore thus says the Lord Jehovah: Because you have spoken vanity and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, declares the Lord Jehovah.
