So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

And the man said, The woman whom You gave to be with me, she has given to me of the tree, and I ate.

For so it was, when Solomon was old, that his wives thrust his heart aside after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as was the heart of his father David.

Then Jehovah said to Satan, Have you set your heart on My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a perfect and upright man, one who fears God and turns away from evil? And still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to swallow him up without cause.

Yet they say to the Mighty God, Depart from us, for we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways.

Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit do we have if we entreat Him?

And while he was still talking with them, behold, the messenger was coming down to him; and he said, Behold, this evil is from Jehovah; why should I wait for Jehovah any longer?

You have said, It is vain to serve God. And, What profit is it that we have kept His charge, and that we have walked as mourners before Jehovah of Hosts?

But stretch out Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse You to Your face!

However, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and will he not curse You to Your face!
