I was a reproach among all my enemies, but especially among my neighbors, and an object of dread to my friends; those who saw me outside have fled from me.

My lovers and my friends stand at a distance from my plague; and my relatives stand afar off.

I have become a stranger to My brothers, and a foreigner to My mother's children.

Reproach has broken My heart, and I am full of heaviness. I looked for someone to show pity, but there was no one; and for comforters, but I found none.

You have removed my acquaintances far from me; You have made me an abomination to them; I am shut up, and I cannot go out;

Lover and friend You have removed far from me, and my acquaintances into darkness.

But all this is happening that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.

At my first defense no one stood with me, but all deserted me. May it not be reckoned against them.

Surely now you are nothing; you see terror and are afraid.

Or, Deliver me from the hand of the adversary? Or, Redeem me from the hand of the mighty?
