Keep quiet, let me be, that I may speak; then let pass over me what will!

Should your empty talk make men hold their peace? And when you mock, should no one make you ashamed?

Is there no end to windy words? What ails you that you answer thus?

How long till you put an end to words? Consider, and afterward we will speak.

How long will you torment my soul, and break me in pieces with words?

Listen carefully to my speech, and let this be your consolation.

Bear with me that I may speak, and after I have spoken, mock on.

So these three men ceased answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

Even a fool, when he is silent, is counted wise; and he who shuts his lips, as a man of understanding.

For a dream comes through much activity; and a fool's voice by the multitude of words.

Therefore the prudent shall keep silent at that time, for it is an evil time.
